We're seeking a talented Quantum Computing Researcher to join our innovative project at the intersection of quantum computing and maritime security agencies. As a key member of our team, you'll have the unique opportunity to develop practical solutions for real-world use cases, driving tangible improvements in situational awareness, communication, and logistical optimizations.

The German Aerospace Center (DLR) and the Technical University of Munich (TUM) are collaborating on an exciting research initiative that leverages quantum computing to address complex challenges faced by maritime safety agencies. Your role will be instrumental in developing and implementing quantum algorithms and data structures to tackle real-world problems, such as sensor data processing, infrastructure modeling, and time series analysis.

Your responsibilities are:

  • Dive deep into the specific challenges faced by maritime security agencies and develop creative solutions using quantum computing.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders from the maritime security domain, DLR partners, and academic institutions to refine and optimize your work for real-world applicability.
  • Conduct proof-of-concept implementations using simulators and quantum computing platforms.
  • Document and share your findings through reports, publications, and presentations.

What we expect from you:

  • Master's degree in computer science, physics, mathematics, or a related field
  • programming experience in Python, C++, or Java
  • proven track record of developing and implementing algorithms for real-world applications
  • strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • excellent communication and collaboration abilities
  • familiarity with quantum computing architectures, algorithms, and data structures is a plus
