YOUR TASKS

  • You spend at least 50% of your assignment on scientific research in the context of the preparation of a doctoral thesis within the field of Organizational Behavior (decision-making and information sharing in management teams).
  • You conduct high-quality scientific research and write a doctoral dissertation within a period of four to a maximum of six years consisting of scientific articles that (can) be published in scientific journals. You conduct this research in collaboration with the research team.
  • You present your research results both internally (e.g., research seminars) and externally (e.g., scientific conferences, both at home and abroad).
  • You provide educational support for courses within the field of “Management and Organization”.
  • You contribute to the internal and external services of the department Marketing, Innovation and Organization.
  • You work in a stimulating, dynamic and open research environment where “Dare to think” is key. Your (co)supervisors have strong academic achievements, both in the field of education, publications and successful PhDs. You work together with other PhD students, which means there are many social interactions and learning opportunities.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • You hold a degree of Master in, preferably, but not limited to, the domains of Economics or Applied Economic Sciences, Business Economics, Business Engineering, Public Administration and Management, Psychological Sciences, Communication Sciences, Sociology or an equivalent degree. The degree requirements need to be fulfilled at the start of your appointment.
  • For diplomas awarded outside the European Union, a certificate of equivalence (NARIC) must be submitted
  • A high degree is recommended.
  • You are interested in scientific research and have the intention to pursue a PhD in the field of Organizational Behavior.
  • You are familiar with (quantitative) research methodology, have good analytical skills and have experience with data analysis.
  • You are intrinsically motivated to carry out your assignments, have a critical attitude, have a (great) eye for detail, can work independently and carefully, are open to feedback and are eager to learn.
  • You are willing to take up the extensive training and development opportunities, which will allow you to expand your methodological and statistical knowledge required for a PhD, as well as to acquire transferable skills relevant for your further career (e.g. communication, project management).
  • You have good didactic and communication skills, both oral and written, and are willing to further sharpen these skills in the context of your teaching assignment.
  • You can teach course units in Dutch.
  • You have a good knowledge of English, both oral and written.

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU

  • We offer you a two-year appointment, which may be renewed twice for two years, on condition that the previous term was given a positive evaluation. Attention: If you have been previously appointed as a junior assistant or doctoral fellow at a university within the Flemish Community, this appointment will be deducted from the maximum term of appointment, which is six years at the most according to the Codex of Higher Education
  • Your appointment will start on 16 September 2024 at the earliest
