YOUR TASKS

  • You spend at least 50% of your assignment on scientific research related to the physiological characterization of exercise and stress in the context of the preparation of a doctoral thesis
  • You provide assistance with the education of the department in the field of Physiology and Pathophysiology: organizing and supervising the practicals, supervising the master's thesis students and internship students from home and abroad.
  • You contribute to the internal and external services of the department

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • You hold a Master's degree in Veterinary Medicine (preferred), a Master's degree in Bioscience Engineering, or an equivalent diploma. The diploma requirement must be met on the date of appointment
  • For diplomas obtained outside the European Union, an equivalence certificate from NARIC must be submitted
  • You have experience with horses and a broad interest in animals
  • You are interested in scientific and/or project-based research and services
  • You work independently, in a structured manner and are willing to share your knowledge with others.
  • You are flexible, communicative and have the necessary attitude to combine PhD research with educational tasks and services.
  • You are passionate about science, eager to learn and enthusiastic to be part of a successful research group in an international environment. More information about the research group can be found via our website: www.Excophysio.com
  • Good communication and team spirit are indispensable.
  • You have the necessary skills in accordance with the requirements of the intended position
  • Possess the physical fitness required for the position to be performed
  • Teaching experience and participation in further training, conferences, etc. is recommended and strongly encouraged within the group
  • You have didactic and communicative qualities.
  • You have thorough knowledge of Dutch and English in connection with supervising Bachelor students in practicals and carrying out PhD research.
  • For diplomas awarded outside the European Union, a certificate of equivalence (NARIC) must be submitted
  • You are interested in academic and/or project-based research and services
  • Any teaching experience or participation in extra training, conferences, etc. is recommended
  • You have excellent teaching and communication skills

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU

  • We offer you a two-year appointment, which may be renewed twice for two years, on condition that the previous term was given a positive evaluation. Attention: If you have been previously appointed as a junior assistant or doctoral fellow at a university within the Flemish Community, this appointment will be deducted from the maximum term of appointment, which is six years at the most according to the Codex of Higher Education
  • Your appointment will start on 1 October 2024 at the earliest
