Job description

The research will be conducted in the Division of Electronics and Embedded Systems in collaboration with the medical imaging group at KTH. The aim of the research is to provide the next generation of sensors for molecular imaging and is supported by a recent European ERC advanced grant. The aim is to drastically improve efficiency and spatial resolution, which is expected to have a high impact on the diagnosis of cancer and cardiovascular disease in the future. The sensors will have integrated analog and digital mixed CMOS electronics with ultra-low power consumption. The research will include design,computer simulations, verification, and experimental evaluation. The work will also include frequent contact with our international partners.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree. This eligibility requirement must be met no later than the time the employment decision is made.
  • Significant documented research expertise in IC design and familiarity with basic lab equipment and characterization
  • Written and spoken English proficiency, very good communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Strong motivation, ability to work independently.
  • Curious and with a raving interest in performing research within this interdisciplinary project

Preferred qualifications

  • A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree, obtained within the last three years prior to the application deadline
  • Teaching abilities and documented student supervision.
  • Awareness of diversity and equal opportunity issues, notably regarding gender equality.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal skills.

About the employment

The position offered is for, at the most, two years.

A position as a postdoctoral fellow is a time-limited qualified appointment focusing mainly on research, intended as a first career step after a dissertation.
