Job description

We are looking for a highly motivated individual for a postdoctoral position focused on reactor design and testing within the area of Bio-CCS (Carbon Capture and Storage) technology. The successful candidate will engage in laboratory and pilot-scale experiments, contributing to the advancement of Bio-CCS solutions. This position offers an exciting opportunity to explore into innovative research at the intersection of renewable energy and environmental sustainability. Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate in designing and constructing a lab-scale carbon capture unit, focusing on BECCS and negative emissions using new advanced structured packings.
  • Engage in interdisciplinary coordination, applying critical thinking and innovative problem-solving skills to advance carbon capture technology.
  • Lead and manage project phases, from planning and resource allocation to adaptive problem solving, ensuring scalability and replicability in real-world applications.
  • Conduct research on post-combustion capture through chemical absorption, proposing innovative solutions to reduce the size and operational costs of the absorber tower.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree. This eligibility requirement must be met no later than the time the employment decision is made.
  • Proficient in written and spoken English, with the ability to write scholarly articles, reports, and technical documentation.
  • Collaborative abilities and independence

Preferred qualifications

  • A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree, obtained within the last three years prior to the application deadline
  • Experience in publishing research articles in reputable journals, demonstrating a capacity for clear and concise scientific writing 
  • Teaching abilities and awareness of diversity and equal opportunity issues, with specific focus on gender equality.

    Great emphasis will be placed on personal skills.

About the employment

A position as a postdoctoral fellow is a time-limited qualified appointment focusing mainly on research, intended as a first career step after a dissertation.
