Through its dual mission of teaching and research, the FSTM seeks to generate and disseminate knowledge and train new generations of responsible citizens, in order to better understand, explain and advance society and environment we live in.

Four Ph.D positions are available in the photovoltaics cluster in the Department of Physics and Materials Science (DPhyMS) at the University of Luxembourg, with two positions at the Laboratory of Energy Materials led by Prof. Dale and two positions at the Laboratory of Photovoltaics led by Prof. Siebentritt. These positions are for two joint European collaborative projects which aim at new materials, methods and concepts for highly efficient thin film photovoltaic devices.

Your Role...

Inorganic thin film photovoltaics require low energy to fabricate, are stable for decades, and have achieved efficiencies comparable to silicon. In these new projects we will implement ideas to improve the efficiency still further and open new photovoltaic applications such as colour and semi-transparency. All the projects will involve significant international collaboration, sample exchange, inkjet or vapour phase synthesis, semiconductor and device characterisation.

What we expect from you…

We are looking for a motivated, independent, passionate skilled physicists, physical chemists, or materials scientists to join our teams. As part of the photovoltaics cluster you will enjoy the opportunity to exchange ideas, collaborate internally, and use well equipped laboratories. Our publications (https://orcid.org/0000-0003-4821-8669) and (https://orcid.org/0000-0001-6522-1427) provide a perspective on our research directions.
