Aarhus School of Architecture is an independent institution under the Danish Ministry of Higher Education and Science. We offer an academic education centered around three approaches to architecture: an artistic, a scientific, and a practice-based. Teaching at the school is facilitated through students’ design projects. All projects receive individual supervision, and we stress the importance of close dialogue between teachers and students. We teach our students to master space, form, and composition and they acquire a thorough understanding of materiality.

An assistant professorship is a three-year training position with research and teaching as principal responsibilities. The position may also, to a limited extent, include administrative work or cross-institutional and external cooperation. Aarhus School of Architecture ensures that the assistant professor receives supervision and opportunities for educational skills development.
An associate professorship is a permanent position with research and/or artistic development work as principal responsibilities. Publication, scientific dissemination and teaching are requirements. The position may also involve project management and administrative work as specifically agreed.
Requirements for applicants and applications
The positions as associate professor requires qualifications in the subject area of the advertisement on the level of a satisfactorily completed period of employment as assistant professor. Such qualifications may have been obtained through documented research at international level or through other further development or innovation of the subject area, such as, for instance, through original artistic development work at a high international level, or based on a considerable career in architecture, design or preservation at a high level.
The positions as assistant professor requires research skills at PhD level or similar qualifications within the relevant subject area.
