The Engineering Department at Ashesi:

Through its curricula and research, our fast-growing Engineering Department at Ashesi is helping deepen a culture of innovation, critical thinking, and hands-on learning on campus. As part of our third-decade strategic plan, we are expanding our current majors – Undergraduate Computer, Electrical, and Mechanical Engineering, and a Master’s in Mechatronic Engineering – to include undergraduate majors in Mechatronic Engineering and Bioengineering. 

The Faculty Role:

Role Expectation: Are you a passionate expert in control systems engineering eager to inspire the next generation of engineers? Do you have a knack for explaining complex concepts and a desire to educate and empower students? If so, we invite you to join our team. We are looking for an exceptional lecturer in  Control Systems to join our esteemed faculty. 

We are recruiting passionate educators to join in our teaching and research. We value faculty who are not just educators, but also mentors and innovators ready to engage in and lead interdisciplinary research projects that mirror real-world problems. 

Responsibility:

As a faculty member in Control Systems you will:

• Engage and inspire students through teaching advanced control systems courses, supervising graduate research, and mentoring future engineers.
• Collaborate with colleagues, graduate students, and industry partners to push the boundaries of knowledge by leading cutting-edge research projects in control systems engineering,
• Play a crucial role in the development of curriculum, ensuring that our programs remain at the forefront of control systems engineering education.
• Able and willing to teach courses such as Control Systems, Optimal Control, Systems Identification & Modeling classes at the graduate or undergraduate level. 

Qualifications & Skills:

To excel in this role, you should have:

• Ph.D. in Control Systems Engineering or a closely related field.
• Strong background in automatic control systems theory and practical application.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to convey complex concepts in an accessible manner.
• Passionate about teaching and mentoring students.
• Commitment to staying updated with the latest developments in control systems.
• Outstanding research record, with a history of impactful publications and research grants.
