Description of the research activity:

Project funded according to Directorial Decree No. 47/2025 of the „Direzione generale dell’internazionalizzazione e della comunicazione“ of the Ministry of University and Research in the framework of PNRR, Mission 4 “Education and Research” - Component 2 “From Research to Enterprise” - Investment 1.2 “Funding of projects submitted by young researchers”, funded by the European Union - NextGeneration EU. The project employs advanced technologies like GreenFeed and MIR spectroscopy to measure methane emissions from dairy cows and breeding bulls, correlating the data with dietary and production parameters. The goal is to estimate genetic parameters of emissions and evaluate the effectiveness of feed additives in reducing them. The data obtained will be integrated with those from dairy cows to develop genetic selection strategies aimed at reducing emissions in local dual-purpose breeds.
