YOUR JOB
Your job will be first to build an optical pump – visible probe setup capable of detecting optically induced changes in active micrometer scale devices (such as LEDs, photo-detectors) or nanostructured materials on the few hundred nanometer length scales. This will require focusing down the femtosecond light pulses using microscopy techniques to resolve spatial inhomogeneity and dynamics in the structures. Next to this, you will develop electrical pump –optical probe methods to study the effect of charge injection/extraction on optical losses to understand the roadblocks towards electrically pumped lasing.
