YOUR TASKS

  • Conduct research on topics related to conflict, civil war, fragility and resilience in the Sahel region.  
  • Translate documents between English and French.  
  • Provide organizational support for the research project, including identifying and booking suitable venues for hybrid events.
  • Manage the LinkedIn profile and offer social media support for project activities.  
  • Oversee the program’s website, organizing and publishing materials effectively.  
  • Initiate and coordinate logistical arrangements for events, including for invited external speakers.  
  • Liaise with partner universities, donor organizations, and relevant ministerial departments involved in the project.  
  • Organize and oversee consultation events.  
  • Perform additional duties as assigned. 

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Master’s degree in political science, conflict and development studies, international relations, or a related field.  
  • Proficient in written and spoken English and French.  
  • Previous experience in project coordination and stakeholder engagement.  
  • Knowledge of socio-political dynamics in the Sahel and Great Lakes regions is an asset.  
  • Experience in donor relations.  
  • Developed research skills, previous experience with research-related jobs is an asset.  
  • Proven organizational skills.
  • Stress-resistant; ability to cope in a mature way with unexpected situations.  
  • Familiarity with WordPress and social media management.

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU 

  •           We offer you a contract of definite duration for the period of one year, extendable by one year subject to a positive evaluation. 
  •           Your contract will start on 1/09/2025 at the earliest.
  •           Your remuneration will be determined by salary scale WM1 to WM4 (if you hold a Master’s degree) or salary scale PD1 to PD4 (if you hold a doctorate).  Click here for more information about our salary scales.
