The Department of Clinical Neuroscience (CNS) is divided into five divisions that conduct research and education in neuroscience, from the molecular level to the societal level. The work at the department is highly integrated with clinical activities and other health-promoting research and education.
The Division of Psychology is highly active in research and teaching. The division is responsible for the Psychology program and has significant involvement in programs such as the Medical Program, Physiotherapy Program, Occupational Therapy Program, as well as standalone courses. The department has a long tradition of research and education in psychological treatment in general, with a specific focus on psychiatry and obsessive-compulsive disorder. We now aim to expand our evidence-based application area even further, with a focus on obsessive-compulsive disorder.
Psychological treatment involves the use of evidence-based methods and techniques to help individuals treat and manage mental health problems and disorders. It may include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and other evidence-based approaches. There is a particular need for research and teaching on OCD and related conditions. Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a mental disorder characterized by obsessions and compulsions, sometimes with comorbidity on the autism and ADHD spectrum. Approximately 200,000 people in Sweden suffer from OCD to varying degrees.
The position as Professor in Clinical Psychology entails linking research within the psychiatric field and advancing the knowledge base by acting as a unifying function between research, teaching, and clinical practice. Comprehensive courses in psychological treatment are provided within the framework of the psychology program. As a professor in the field, you will contribute with highly internationally anchored research in the field, with a focus on psychiatry in general and OCD specifically. You are expected to provide knowledge to future psychologists in the psychology program at KI, which includes both teaching and supervision.
To be eligible for an employment as Professor with focus on education and research the applicant must have demonstrated excellent pedagogical skills, very good scientific skills and, clinical skills.

You must have a license as a psychologist, as you will primarily teach the clinical components of the program, including clinical applications.
It is a requirement that you have completed 10 weeks of courses on teaching in higher education, as indicated in the recommendations of the Association of Swedish Higher Education Institution. If you lack such education at the time of employment, you must undergo such education during the first two years of employment.
The Professorship has a focus on education and research. The assessment will weight qualifications as follows: scientific skills (3), pedagogical skills (3), leadership and collaboration skills (2), and clinical skills (2).
