The Institute for International Law of KU Leuven groups the teaching and research within KU Leuven in the areas of public international law and the law of international organisations. The Institute conducts its research in close collaboration with the Leuven Centre for Global Governance Studies.

Responsibilities

  • You offer support for the courses and teaching modules in the areas of public international law and the law of international organisations at KU Leuven.
  • You supervise students for their papers and theses.
  • You perform support activities in the Institute for International Law and, occasionally, in the Leuven Centre for Global Governance Studies.
  • You take initiatives, together with other colleagues, in order to make the Institute for International Law a dynamic environment.
  • You are keen to establish a good cooperation and understanding with other research centres and institutes within and outside KU Leuven, in particular the Leuven Centre for Global Governance Studies.

Profile

  • You have a master of Law/International Law degree.
  • You have excellent analytical and writing skills.
  • You are capable to work as part of a teaching team.
  • You are resistant to stress and have an inquisitive mind.
  • You master both Dutch and English in an excellent manner. Knowledge of other languages is an asset.
  • It is an asset to have experience in Moot Courts and/or Model United Nations.
  • You have studied abroad at a leading university for one or more years.
  • You have excellent study results.

Offer

We offer a part-time fixed term contract as a teaching assistant of maximum 50%, renewable, for academic year 2024-2025 (until 30 September 2025). This function is linked to a salary scale 43.
