RIMELL (Interdisciplinary Research on the Museography and Exhibition of Literature and Books) is an “applied research” network. Founded in 2016, this international network—a pioneer in the study of literature and book exhibitions—serves as a meeting place for the museum world, academia, and art schools. Its mission is to study the history and current practices of book and literature exhibitions, as well as to apply the findings of this research in the creation of exhibitions.

Responsibilities

- Conduct research on the history of exhibitions held at the relevant institutions, including by exploring their archives;
- Present the results of this research in journals or at conferences;

Profile

- You hold a Ph.D. in literary studies or museology;
- You have an excellent command of French (native-level or equivalent) and an excellent command of English. Knowledge of Dutch is a plus;
- You are passionate about literature and aspire to become a leading researcher in the field of literary and cultural studies;
- You are interested in the historical connections between literature, museums, and exhibitions, as well as in the ways literature is preserved as cultural heritage;
- You are prepared to present your research at conferences and in academic publications. Skills in communicating to a broader audience (press, social media) are a plus;
- You are willing to work on campus at least three or four days a week;
- You are eager to work as part of a team and willing to play an active role in the research program, as well as within RIMELL (Network for Interdisciplinary Research on Museography and the Exhibition of Literature and Books).

We are offering a two-year, full-time postdoctoral fellowship in an intellectually stimulating and collaborative environment.
