We are now looking for our new PhD who will join us in our poject in ELLIIT, Linköping University.

Your work assignments

The selected candidate will conduct cutting-edge research on unconventional array antenna systems for imaging MIMO radar in autonomous driving applications. This work will advance the design and characterization of intelligent devices and environments for wireless communications, localization, and sensing, with a focus on developing next-generation multiple-antenna systems while optimizing overall system performance.

As a doctoral student, you devote most of your time to doctoral studies and the research projects of which you are part. Your work may also include teaching or other departmental duties, up to a maximum of 20% full-time.

Your qualifications

You have graduated at Master’s level in electrical engineering, electromagnetic engineering, wireless engineering, engineering physics, applied physics, a closely related field.

Good command of electromagnetic simulation tools such as CST Microwave Studio, HFSS  or EM Pro for antenna modeling and design is required, as is experience with programming languages like MATLAB, Python, or similar for antenna array analysis and algorithm development. Basic familiarity with experimental validation of antenna designs, including measurement techniques in anechoic chambers or reverberation chambers, is expected. Knowledge of radar systems, particularly MIMO radar, and wave propagation channel modelling is highly desirable.

We place particular emphasis on your ability to apply an interdisciplinary approach to problem-solving or your willingness to acquire the necessary skills to do so.

The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a diverse research team is critical. We highly value personal qualities such as strong problem-solving skills, a proactive and enthusiastic approach to engineering research, and adaptability. Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, is required.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities and suitability.

Your workplace

This ELLIIT-funded project will be conducted at the Physics, Electronics, and Mathematics (FEM) division within the Department of Science and Technology (ITN) at Linköping University, Norrköping campus. It is a collaborative effort with Lund University. The research will be supervised by Sr. Associate Professor Andrés Glazunov as the main supervisor, with co-supervision from Professor Fredrik Tufvesson.

The employment
