About CBS:
The Chemical & Biochemical Sciences, Green Process Engineering (CBS) department is a component of Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P). CBS aims to establish a distinctive, internationally recognized research and teaching program to address UM6P's challenges in research and education, particularly in green and environmental chemistry applied to all aspects of chemical sciences: organic and inorganic chemistry, analytical chemistry, chemical biology, and biochemical and thermal reactions.
CBS research is organized around several major areas, focusing on solving industrial challenges, complex chemical and biochemical reactions, scaling up, and process engineering validation. CBS projects aim to deeply understand molecular mechanisms of transformations to propose new, original alternatives in terms of efficiency, environmental friendliness, and sustainability.
CBS operates on the principle of partnerships with Moroccan and international universities, adopting joint degrees and certified joint laboratories. CBS has already established a master’s Research program in Chemical Sciences of Phosphates.
Position Title: Postdoc on the OX-ZEO Process for Converting Biogas into Synthetic Fuel
Specialization Area in Education and Research: CBS
Multidisciplinary Profile Specializing in Catalytic Processes
Job Description:
The Chemical & Biochemical Sciences, Green Process Engineering (CBS) department at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University is seeking a Postdoc specializing in heterogeneous catalysis. The candidate's research activities will focus on developing bifunctional catalysts for converting biogas into high-value molecules. This position requires knowledge of material synthesis with controlled porosity and mixed oxides. The work will involve optimizing the synthesis process; experience with fixed-bed catalytic reactors, gas/solid, in continuous flow at high temperatures is preferred. Knowledge of gas-phase reaction product analysis using micro-GC and FTIR is also necessary. A general knowledge of material synthesis is required.
Main Responsibilities:
The successful candidate should be able to:
Design, develop, and validate an experimental catalytic measurement setup
Conduct conversion measurements at both laboratory and industrial scales
Synthesize and develop new catalytic materials
Characterize catalysts before and after reactions
Write reports and publications
Candidate Profile:
PhD in catalytic processes or equivalent in a relevant field
Relevant experience in conducting catalytic tests
Experience in analyzing gas-phase products using chromatographic techniques and FTIR
Ability to develop solid material evaluation processes
Ability to write scientific reports
Teamwork skills
Proficiency in English
