About the Position
University Mohammed VI Polytechnic (UM6P) is recruiting a dynamic and visionary Professor in Sport Sciences & Performance to design and implement innovative educational and research initiatives related to High-Level Athletes & Sport Performance.
The successful candidate will play a key role in establishing a pioneering academic offer that initially targets elite athletes, and will progressively expand to serve the broader sports ecosystem.
Key Missions
- Design, launch, and implement undergraduate and/or graduate programs tailored to high-level athletes, facilitating their academic success alongside their athletic careers.
- Expand the academic offering over time to address the needs of the wider sports ecosystem.
- Develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses in sport sciences including preparation of teaching material, delivery of lectures, seminars, tutorials and group work, assessments and entrance exams, provide advice and support to students, acting as a Personal tutor, …
- Establish and oversee UM6P’s policy for the support and academic integration of high-level athletes across mainstream programs.
- Conduct and supervise applied research in sport sciences and related disciplines, contributing to the development of knowledge, innovation, and best practices in the sector.
- Build strategic partnerships with academic institutions, sports federations, and industry stakeholders both nationally and internationally.
Depending on seniority, the candidate may be invited to take on leadership roles within a dedicated sport-related academic structure (department or school) and contribute to the academic community through committee service.
Candidate Profile
- A PhD in Sport Sciences or a closely related field, with academic rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor (PA, PH, or PES equivalents).
- A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in higher education (teaching, research, and curriculum development).
- Strong first-hand knowledge of the high-performance sports environment, with dual academic and field experience.
- Familiarity with the elite sports ecosystem in Morocco and local sports institutions would be a significant asset.
- Proven international exposure, both in academic collaborations and in sports-related contexts.
- Demonstrated experience with online or hybrid education, and openness to pedagogical innovation using AI, educational software, or digital tools.
