Job description

The energy system of a ship, car, aircraft or camp of the defence must meet the energy demand of all essential systems in a robust and economical manner under all circumstances. In addition, there is a requirement that the emissions can be controlled depending on the operation. In the coming years, new ships will be put into service with very advanced energy systems that also operate partly on new fuels. These energy systems already work properly, but the possibilities have not yet been fully exploited. We want to use the coming 10 years to fully utilise all capacities. The army is developing and purchasing new electric vehicles and the energy system of our camps is also developing rapidly.

New ships could use nuclear propulsion, but not all advantages and disadvantages of such a system have been mapped out at this time. Furthermore, defense will increasingly use remote-controlled or partially autonomous systems. This remote operation will place new demands on the energy systems.

The UD energy systems strengthens a team that is concerned with maximizing the potential of modern energy systems. The team has excellent research facilities and a good international network.

For this position we are looking for a colleague with some experience in education and research in the field of energy systems or emissions. You have preferably participated in research projects. You are willing to commit yourself to building a network that we can use to improve education and set up research projects.
We expect you to take over some of the teaching tasks related to energy systems, and to contribute to the general courses that the department provides. In addition, you will participate in the research projects of the group. We will introduce you to the field and coach you to build your own research portfolio.
