The Faculty of Psychology, Educational Sciences and Speech Therapy is opening a full-time academic position in the field of Speech & Language therapy.
The candidate must demonstrate a strong clinical experience in speech & language therapy.
The position includes teaching responsibilities, including the following courses:
- LOGO4001: Langage écrit: méthodes d’examen et Clinique logopédique (12h lecture, master level)
- LOGO4002 : Langage oral : méthodes d’examen et Clinique logopédique (24h lecture, master level)
- LOGO5006 : Percepeption multimodale de la parole et traitement cognitivo-linguistique (24h, mater level)
The candidate will be encouraged to offer new courses in order to strengthen the teaching catalogue, following discussion with the coordinator of the master degree. The teaching load may be extended to a total of 120 hours per year (‘base 12’). The load may be adapted based on the profile of the candidate.
The successful candidate will also be expected to supervise a significant number of Preparatory Work for the Thesis (Master 1) and Master's Theses (Master 2) as the main advisor.
Furthermore, the candidate is expected to actively contribute to the activities of the Multidisciplinary University Consultation Center (CCUP).
Clinical Field:
The candidate will represent the Master program in various forums discussing the legal conditions for practicing the profession. Therefore, they must either already hold or be eligible to obtain the necessary professional certification and accreditation within 3 years of their appointment.
Research Field:
The candidate's research will be conducted within one of the research laboratories of the Cognition and Neurosciences Research Center (CRCN). The candidate is expected to develop research activities in complementarity and interaction with existing teams, as well as their own collaboration network.
Required educational level: Master of Speech & Language Therapy and Doctoral degree (PhD) in Speech & Language Therapy, Psychology or equivalent.
Required skills & experiences
• The candidate has at least 4 years of scientific experience at the time of the appointment
• The candidate’s international standing is demonstrated through collaborations, publications in peer-reviewed international journals, and membership in academic societies.
• A strong active knowledge of English is required
• Postdoctoral experience in speech & language therapy is an asset, especially in a different institution than where the PhD was conducted
• Securing research funding is an advantage
• Mobility outside the institution where the doctorate work was completed (during or after the doctoral period) will be considered in the evaluation of your application.
• University teaching experience may be an asset.
• If the candidate is not fluent in French (C1 level), an adaptation period may be granted. However, you must be able to teach in French by the end of the third year following your appointment.
