Education and Research Field: Biological Sciences.
Career Stage: Early stage researcher (0-4 years).
Duration: 2 years (renewable twice after positive evaluation).
Preparation and supervision of practical work sessions, seminars, exercises, and excursions (900 hours per year, including a maximum of 300 hours face-to-face with students) for courses in various fields of Biology (Biology of Organisms, Ecology, Molecular and cellular biology, Biochemistry and Genetics); support for biological sciences dissemination activities.
The applicant will prepare a PhD thesis in one of the research fields of the Department of Biology of Organisms, under the supervision of a professor of the Department (this requires a preliminary contact and agreement with that professor). Required degree
Master degree in Organism Biology and Ecology or Master in Bioengineering (or recognised equivalent degree), associated with 120 credits. In addition, the candidate must fulfill the conditions for enrolling in a PhD training.
Students currently in their 2nd year of a Master's degree may apply, but if selected, they will be hired only if they receive their Master degree at the end of the second exam session, at the latest.
Skills required
The candidate will join the teaching team of the biology teaching coordination. The teaching assignments focus on the first cycle of biological sciences, bio-engineering sciences and pharmaceutical sciences (Bachelor level):

The details of the teaching contribution will be set by the educational coordination commission (for any information, please contact Mr. P. Mardulyn – [email protected]). The activities also include a contribution to the development of exercises and exercise corrections, to the supervision and corrections of tests, quizzes and exams, and to the preparation of these activities. The applicant can be asked to supervise activities on all ULB campuses (i.e., the Plaine, Solbosch, jardin Jean Massart and Gosselies campuses).
