University Assistant without doctorate (m/f/d)

Your Responsibilities

• Writing a dissertation at the University of Graz in the area of cognitive-functional grammar of English
• Participating in research projects and publication activities
• Independent teaching of courses and participation in teaching and examination tasks of the department
• Participating in and co-organising workshops and conferences
• Participating in organizational and administrative tasks as well as in evaluation measures
• Supervision of students
• Commitment to acquire German language skills by attending a German language course

Your Profile

• Completed diploma or master’s degree in the area of English linguistics, preferably with a focus on English grammar
• Experience with or willingness to employ computer corpora and corpus-based research methods
• Good knowledge of cognitive-functional theories of language
• Excellent command of written and spoken English
• Basic knowledge of German (desirable)
• Teaching experience (desirable)
• Very good computer skills
• Ability to work independently, goal-oriented, and high level of initiative
• Strong teamworking and organizational skills

• Proof of the language skills, required in the curriculum, if the doctoral programme is not completed in the first language (please note that an admission is required). For a doctorate in English and American Studies within the doctoral programme at the Faculty of Humanities a language certificate in English on a C1 Level (CEFR C1) is required.

We offer an annual gross salary of at least € 52.007,20 for a fulltime position. An overpayment based on qualification and experience is possible.
