Your Responsibilities

  • Writing a dissertation at the University of Graz in the field of educational sciences
  • Participation in the research unit “Empirical Education Research”
  • Co-supervision of academic theses
  • Teaching: organization of and assistance in courses, supervision of students, particularly with quantitative analysis of empirical data, assistance with exams
  • Administration: Involvement in administrative tasks

Your Profile

  • Diploma or Master’s degree in pedagogy, psychology or in a comparable field with equal professional qualification
  • Planned dissertation
  • Experience in conception and organization of empirical research projects
  • Main focus in the field of school research/empirical education research
  • Outstanding knowledge of empirical social research methods
  • Advanced competence in statistical methods and computer programs for analysis of quantitative and qualitative empirical data (e.g. SPSS)
  • Sound knowledge of computerized literature search and data analysis
  • High proficiency of written and spoken English and German
  • Willingness to cooperate, teamwork and organizational skills

  • Proof of the language skills, required in the curriculum, if the doctoral program is not completed in the first language.

We offer an annual gross salary of at least € 52.007,20 for a fulltime position. An overpayment based on qualification and experience is possible.
