Probability theory is a focus area in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science. Our research in the areas of random graphs, stochastic processes and statistical mechanics is based on international collaboration and we also cooperate with researchers in theoretical physics and computer science.

YOUR TASKS

• Teaching in stochastics
• Research in the field of random graphs with the possibility of a doctorate

YOUR PROFILE

• You have a Bachelor‘s degree in mathematics or a similar degree programme and expect to have a Master‘s degree by the time you start the position
• You have specialized in probability theory and have in-depth knowledge of random graphs
• You enjoy teaching at university level and are prepared to learn the language sufficiently to teach classes in German

The position is available from 01.09.2025 on a parttime basis (26,56 hours per week). The position is to be filled for a fixed term until 31.08.2027 with the possibility of extension. If the applicant meets the relevant wage requirements and personal qualifications, the salary will be based on remuneration group 13 TV-L of the pay scale for the German public sector.
