The Faculty of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences (FHSE) at the University of Luxembourg brings together expertise from the humanities, linguistics, cognitive sciences, social and educational sciences.

Your role

The topic of the PhD will be related to research carried out in our group, focusing on questions of lifespan development, views on aging, ageism, preparation for old age, health and well-being, as well as personality and identity development in later life. The candidate will be encouraged to develop a research line related to the assessment of these processes in daily life (e.g., daily diary studies, ecological momentary assessment) and the combination of self-report and sensor-measured data. There will also be the opportunity to contribute to longitudinal survey studies and analyze existing datasets. The person is expected to publish in peer-reviewed scientific journals and present his/her work at international scientific conferences.

Your profile

• Master's Degree (or equivalent) in Psychology or a related field
• Profound interest in the psychology of aging and lifespan development
• Interest in studies of ambulatory assessment
• Good knowledge of and interest in quantitative methods (e.g., multivariate analyses, longitudinal analyses, multilevel analyses); willingness to learn advanced quantitative methods
• Good command of written and spoken English
• Enthusiasm and enjoyment for research and science, strong personal commitment
