Your role

The doctoral researcher will be working under the supervision of Professor Stanislaw Tosza. The doctoral researcher's main task will be to prepare a doctoral thesis in the field of compliance and law enforcement. The thesis work will be undertaken at the University of Luxembourg but can also be jointly-supervised with another university. The suggested theme of the PhD is to explore the emerging role of artificial intelligence (AI) in corporate compliance programs implemented to prevent and detect crime. The candidate is welcome to suggest topics within this overarching theme. The doctoral candidate will contribute to the teaching activities.

The doctoral researcher will benefit from being part of a research group comprising several doctoral and postdoctoral researchers working on related topics of criminal law and criminal procedure, enforcement, compliance, in particular focusing on new technologies.

  • A Master's Degree in criminal law, cyberlaw, law&tech, compliance, or EU law with the focus digital governance, or another one, which demonstrates interest in those disciplines

Language Requirements:
