The School of Education has a large, well established and highly respected tradition of initial teacher education (ITE). There is a long-established secondary PGCE programme and an innovative and growing primary PGCE programme. The School also has a well-established PGCES programme that provides the PGCE qualification to SCITT providers. In addition, from September 2025, the School will also be running a Mathematics and Education Secondary Teacher Degree Apprenticeship (TDA).

The post is offered on a permanent, full time (36.25 hours per week) contract. The role starts in September. Job share arrangements may be considered.
Applicants should hold a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (secondary), or equivalent, and a masters degree, or equivalent, in a relevant area. They should also have substantive teaching experience in secondary english education in the UK and experience of supporting student teachers or ECTs
