MAASTRO clinic

In 1977, the Limburg Radiotherapy Institute was established in Heerlen with the aim of providing generalised care and, more specifically, radiotherapy to cancer patients in the regions of Central and South Limburg.

From 1 January 2003 the name of the foundation Limburg Radiotherapy Institute was officially changed to the MAASTRO clinic foundation. Since the spring of 2006, MAASTRO clinic has been developing its activities at their location in Maastricht. The main site of MAASTRO clinic is in Maastricht on the north side of the University Hospital Maastricht, Dr. Tanslaan 12, 6229 ET Maastricht.

MAASTRO clinic provides patient care (with radiotherapy) and performs clinical radiotherapy research. MAASTRO clinic also collaborates with the Radiotherapy Department and the GROW Research School of the Maastricht University Medical Centre (MUMC+) for the further optimisation of cancer treatment through education and scientific research.

The management of MAASTRO clinic is formed by Professor P. Lambin (Chairman) and Business Director M.J.G. Jacobs.
