YOUR TASKS 

As a postdoctoral researcher, you will contribute to the FWO project "Knowing What We Are Talking About", which focuses on improving the conceptualization and measurement of psychological constructs in the context of chronic pain. Your tasks will include:

  • Identifying and defining key concepts within the biopsychosocial approach to chronic pain.
  • Systematically mapping and evaluating existing self-report instruments.
  • Conducting content evaluations of measurement tools through expert reviews and interviews.
  • Contributing to the development of a formal ontology for psychological concepts in pain research.
  • Publishing research findings in international journals.
  • Actively participating in meetings with the project team and stakeholders.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR 

  • You hold a PhD in psychology or a related field.
  • You have demonstrated expertise in psychometrics, test validity, systematic literature reviews, or formal ontologies.
  • You have experience with both qualitative and quantitative research methods.
  • You are familiar with theories in health psychology and/or pain psychology.
  • You have strong communication skills and can work both independently and as part of a team.
  • You have experience writing scientific publications in English.

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU 

  • We offer you a contract of definite duration for the period of max 2 years.
  •  Your contract will start on 1/10/2025 at the earliest.
  • Your remuneration will be determined by salary scale PD1 to PD4 (if you hold a doctorate).  Click here for more information about our salary scales.
