We announce an open PhD position within the framework of the doctoral college "Skills for Medical Device Research - SOLVER", which is funded by the FWF-Austrian Science Fund, for the duration of four (4) years. Expected start date: April 2025. The position is equivalent to a part-time university assistant (30 hours). The doctoral college SOLVER, a cooperation programme in which the life science expertise of the FH Campus Wien and the engineering expertise of the Technische Universität Wien are complimented, offers five interdisciplinary projects in the field of innovative biomaterials and bioassays. Each project will be supervised by at least two professors from the relevant disciplines and institutions. The aim of the doctoral college is to train outstanding young researchers who will be able to develop innovative biomaterials together with biological tests for a new generation of medical products.
Entry level salary is determined by the pay grade B1 of the Austrian collective agreement for university staff. This is a minimum of currently EUR 2,786.10/month gross, 14 times/year for 30 hours/week. Relevant working experiences may increase the monthly income. After the initial screening process, selected applicants will be invited by March 30th to give a brief presentation (either in person or online) of their previous research. Additionally, the selected candidates will have to give a presentation on an article relevant to their selected PhD project. The article will be sent to the selected candidates one week prior to the hearings.
