Job Description

The post holder will be responsible for Austrian criminal law and criminal procedure law in both research and teaching, with a particular emphasis on practical relevance. A focal point in teaching is the sharing of knowledge and good practical skills in connection with relevant institutions at regional and national levels. The post holder will also participate in the preparation and correction of examination papers. Furthermore, the successful candidate will be expected to provide support to students with their final papers.

Employment Requirements

  • Austrian or equivalent foreign higher education degree corresponding with the position (doctorate/PhD)
  • Outstanding academic qualifications in research and teaching in the relevant discipline as well as several years of subject-relevant non-university practical experience (commensurate with stage of academic career and interruptions in employment due to caring responsibilities)
  • Gender mainstreaming and diversity management skills
  • Skills in higher education didactics
  • International experience preferred
  • Management and leadership experience
  • Good knowledge of German and English

The successful candidate will be highly motivated, aiming for academic excellence and integrity in research and teaching. He/she will have demonstrated ability to collaborate constructively in a responsible manner and inspire colleagues and students in an interdisciplinary, internationally oriented context.

The minimum remuneration as stated in the Collective Bargaining Agreement is € 23,496.55 gross per year. Salary subject to negotiation.
