Om arbeidsgiveren

ClerVolc is a centre for research, innovation and training in the fields of volcanic processes, hazards and risk. It was financed in 2011 for 10 years under the French government ‘Laboratory of Excellence’ initiative. The ClerVolc project involves collaboration between six laboratories of Blaise Pascal University–CNRS, the French Geological Survey, and the Clermont Observatory of Terrestrial Physics, under the leadership of the Laboratoire Magmas et Volcans of Blaise Pascal University.

The key components of the ClerVolc project are:

  • Research on volcanic processes, from deep magma source regions to the atmosphere, and their environmental and societal impacts;
  • Development of new volcanological instrumental capabilities;
  • Communication of modern volcanological concepts and techniques to young scientists in developing countries.
